The Benedictine monks have lived in Plouharnel for almost a century as it was in 1897 that the Saint Pierre de Solesmes abbey, famous for the quality of its liturgy and Gregorian hymn, founded the Kergonan monastery.

The modern world is more curious than ever about monastic life. However, the monks of Saint Anne of Kergonan do not live for the ceramics that they make or for the cereals or fruit trees they cultivate. Their main occupation is praising the lord. Their service is sung in Gregorian, inherited from several centuries of religious practice in the occident, a unique spiritual school. And considering the number of people who come to sing with the monks, the need for spiritualism becomes more and more evident. The words of Malraux are well known ; "The 21st century will or will not be religious".

Service in Gregorian everyday at 10am, vespers at 6pm during the week and 4.30pm on Sundays and holidays. Evening prayers everyday at 8.30pm. Retreatants welcome + 33 2 97 52 45 14. Sale of religious articles, decorated ceramics made by the monks, book shop and cultivating of fruit hedges.
